Limerick Exiles Enjoy St Patricks weekend in Style with 2 parades: The Limerick Exiles Association in London have been very active over the festive weekend and celebrating the great feast day of our national patron ,were on the march in two great parades in the English capital.
Saturday March 16th saw the Association join forces with many county and communitygroups as they took part in the annual Brent St Patricks Day which took place at Willesden Green. The weather did not prove too kindly for those marching and the attendance which lined the streets of Willesden High Road but it did not damper the great enthisaism and passion.
The Brent parade was followed by a great afternoon festival of music and entertainment which the crowd thoroughly enjoyed.
Sunday March 17th saw the Limerick Exiles on the road once again as they took part
in the Annual London St Patrick’s day Parade which brought huge numbers of participants and spectators on to the street to enjoy the colour and festivities. The parade route commenced from Piccadilly and made its way through central London where it finished in Whitehall and members of the Association turned out to show their support most generously. We welcomed as a guest
Ms Anne Barrington of the University of Limerick who joined with us and marched very proudly and we thank all who played their part with great enthusiasm and enjoyment.
The Parade was followed by the St Patricks festival in Trafalgar Square where along with the music line up there was a host of activities ranging from comedy to food and numerous stalls and events to keep the large crowd entertained.
