CHURCH NOTES: Reader for the month of March at Meanus Mass is Pat Cotter. The collector is Pat Murnane. The Eucharistic Minister is Niamh O’Connor. During Lent Mass is celebrated each Wednesday night in Meanus Church at 7.30pm.
AWARDS CEREMONY: The Kemmy Business School, University of Limerick and the Business Studies Teachers Association of Ireland held a Junior Certificate Awards Ceremony at the University Concert Hall last week and among the recipients was Robbie Punch, Caherguillamore. A past pupil of Scoil Dean Cussen, Bruff, Robbie now attends Colaiste Iosaef, Kilmallock where he received an A in Business Studies in the Junior Certificate Examination, 2012.
CAMOGUE ROVERS GAA CLUB FUNDRAISER: Club Fundraiser in the form of leg waxing and head shaving to take place in Statia Dempsey’s Bar, Meanus, on Saturday, March 30. All players will be taking part and we would greatly appreciate all support on the night and all sponsorship of players. Anyone who sponsors a player will have the chance to partake in the head shaving or leg waxing on the night. All players have sponsorship cards and there are also cards available in Dempsey’s Bar.
PRE-SEASON TRAINING: Pre-season training for both hurling and football players takes place every Tuesday and Friday at 7.30pm in the GAA field in Meanus. All players are asked to attend.
BORD NA NOG FIXTURES: U14 hurlers start their Feile Campaign this Sunday, March 24 with an away game against South Liberties at 11am.
Our U16 footballers also start their campaign against South Liberties in Knockea on Monday, March 25. Throw in 6.45pm.
EASTER CAMP: Bruff Bord na nOg will be holding an Easter Camp on Thursday and Friday April 4/5 for ages six to 14. Camp will start at 10.30am and finish at 1pm.
MEDAL PRESENTATION NIGHT: Paul Browne will be presenting medals to the winning county teams on Friday, March 22 at 8pm. Can all players and parents please attend. It will be a great family night and refreshments will be available. Home baking would be greatly appreciated for the evening also.
REGISTRATION FORMS: Outstanding registration forms can be returned on the night of the medal presentations. Please can any forms that have not been returned to the committee be brought along on March 22.
CHILD PROTECTION MEETING: There is a county Child Protection Meeting organised for March 26 in the clubhouse and is open to all parents to attend.
SCOIL DEAN CUSSEN: Enrolment forms for new pupils commencing school at Scoil Dean Cussen, Bruff, September 2013, are now available from the school office. We look forward to welcoming your child to the school community.
TABLE QUIZ: Meanus Defibulator Group are holding their Annual Family Table Quiz again this year on Good Friday night, March 29. Any unwanted gifts would be greatly appreciated for the raffle. Contact Ursula at 087-2304757 or Jim at 087-6201606.
DAFFODIL DAY: Daffodil Day blooms on next Friday, March 22. Fresh and silk flowers will be on sale on the main street in Bruff. Donations of fresh flowers would be welcome and same can be brought to the stand outside Nagles Eurospar on Friday morning. Please continue your generosity towards this worthy cause.
