Limerick takeway cleared to re-open as closure order is lifted

Speedo Pizza Kebab was ordered to close on October 16. The closure order has now been lifted

A TAKEAWAY in Limerick city centre has been cleared to re-open having been ordered to close by HSE inspectors earlier this month.

The closure order, under EC regulations, was served on the proprietor of Speedo Pizza Kebab following an inspection by Environmental Health Officers on October 16, last.

The premises is located near the People's Park at 41 Lord Edward Street and according to the Food Safety Authority of Ireland, the order was formally lifted on Friday.

The exact reason for the closure order has not been publicly disclosed but the lifting of the order means all matters of concern have been rectified.

The FSAI has not said if the inspection was routine or carried out following a complaint.
