I WAS thrilled to attend the launch of the Sparkle and Shine fashion show and Limerick’s Fashion Trail which will see 17 of Limerick’s leading retailers turn on the style on October 24 when they host sequential fashion shows at their stores.
Eoghan Prendergast of Limerick City Marketing said this is a wonderful opportunity for Limerick stores to showcase their autumn winter collection. Between 10am and 4.30pm, fashionistas, young and old, will be treated to the very best of what’s on offer in Limerick’s stylish outlets as they join the fashion trail.
One of the big highlights is Sparkle and Shine, which will be hosted by RTE’s Brendan Courtney on October 22 in Marco Polo restaurant with proceeds going to the Symptomatic Breast Unit in University Hospital Limerick. This is a great event during our City of Culture year. See Sparkle and Shine on Facebook for details on tickets to the event.
THE response to the Limerick International Fashion Student Awards has been unprecedented. Students from colleges across the world including Great Britain, Poland, Italy, Belgium and of course here at home will be descending on our beautiful city for the event.
This is all happening on October 23 in the magnificent medieval St Mary’s Cathedral in the heart of our wonderful city. The winner of the competition will receive a prize of €10,000 sponsored by Brown Thomas as well an internship with the fantastic designer Frank Lynam in Canada.
There are a host of celebrities and media travelling to Limerick for the event including Valerie Campbell, mother of international supermodel Naomi Campbell.
Also, we will have a beautiful autumn winter fashion show presented by Brown Thomas Limerick. Tickets, priced at €20 are available from the Limerick Leader offices at 54 O’Connell Street, Limerick.
