Visit a Haven of Peace and Quiet: Our little Chapel at the back of St. Nicholas’ is a haven of peace, prayer and quiet. It takes place each week from Thursday following 7pm Mass to Friday 6.45pm. This is an ideal opportunity for you to have some quiet time with the Lord. It is open each day 9am—6pm and we encourage you to pop in for a quiet moment or for as long as you wish.
On February 8 a member of the Diocesan Adoration Group will visit our parish to promote this.
Suicide Outreach Programme: This service was set up by the Mid- Western Health Board in collaboration with the Limerick Pastoral Centre, in order to support people in the immediate aftermath of a suicide, by visiting families in their homes on request. Congratulations: To St. Munchin´s College whose 19´s and 16´s Basketball teams secured a double win to be crowned All- Ireland Schools Cup winners recently. St.Munchin’s were crowned All Ireland basketball champions on the double at the National Arena in Tallaghton Tuesday afternoon. The Corbally School won the Boys U-19 ‘C’ and U-16 ‘C’ in thrilling circumstances to make for a memorable day. First up were the U-19 team who were taking on Ashbourne CC of Meath. Captain Diarmuid O’Shea was the hero of the hour, scoring 33 points in their 61-56 win.
Munchin’s were 14 points ahead heading into the final quarter and despite a nervous finish, they hung on to win. A couple of hours later, their U-16 team took to the court, this time against Portmarnock CS of North Dublin. Again it was a nail-biting contest but Munchin’s emerged victorious on a score line of 40-37. Cian Collins and Jaz Predijito impressed for the winners.

Baptisms: Take place on the 2nd and fourth Saturday of each month at 6pm. Please make all necessary arrangements with Fr. Derek. A meeting to prepare for this special day will be on the last Thursday of the month in St. Nicholas’ Church. January Baptism meeting: Thursday 30th at 7.30p.m.
World Day of the Sick Feb 11: On MondayFebruary 11 there will be Holy Mass and the Sacrament of the Sick in St. Mary’s Church at 10am. Choir: Ard Scoil Mhuire. On this day the 9.45a.m. will not be celebrated in St. Munchin’s College Chapel. All are encouraged to attend this Mass in St.Mary’s. If people need a lift please leave your name in the sacristy. Remembering the Sick: Dear Jesus, Healer of the sick, we remember all who are ill at home or in hospital. Michael Nora, Vera, Brian Frank, Kathleen, Anne, Paddy, Nancy, Olive, Nora, Breda, Kathleen, TJ, Charlie Pat, David, Anthony, Bill and baby Dara. Grant them the grace and strength to accept their burden. We place them under your care and humbly ask that you restore them to health again. Above all, grant them the grace to acknowledge your will and know that whatever you do, you do for the love of them. Amen.
