BRUFF HERITAGE GROUP: It is that time again and we are almost ready to launch the third edition of Images of Bruff. This will be done on November 30 after evening Mass (about 7pm). This year it will be done in the Old Courthouse building and we have to say that we are especially grateful to the Community Café for hosting the first two launches. This year the book looks like being a very special one and we are hoping to have a big crowd for the launch on the night. We have asked Tom O Donnell, former T.D., Minister and Member of the European Parliament to launch the Book. He has agreed and we are delighted he has done so and we are looking forward to a great night. Teas and Coffees will also be served on the night. All are welcome.
CHRISTMAS MARKET: Please note a change of date is being announced for the Christmas Market it will now be held on Saturday December 14 and not December 7 as was stated last week. We will be holding the Christmas Market again in the Old Courthouse building. We will be hoping for the same success as we had in past years. STARS, CHOIRS & CAROLS: Help set a world record and join a choir for a day! Stars Choirs and Carols is set to take place in Croke Park on Thursday December 19 with the primary beneficiary of funds raised being Cliona’s Foundation. The church choirs of Lough Gur and Knockainey have agreed to join forces for the night as “Cliona’s Choir for a day” and are inviting people to join them in supporting this unique event, the brainchild of Richard Mulcahy, the Secret Millionaire. To help us we want YOU to join us on the night in Croke Park and assist in reaching our fundraising target of €1,000. The members of Lough Gur choir are holding a “Thanksgiving Table Quiz” at Reardons, Holycross on Friday night November 29th and are asking for your support on the night.
DEISE COMMUNITY CLUB: Christmas party hosted by Meanus Social Club will be held at the Community Centre, Meanus on Sunday December 1 at 2 pm. Bus will leave from Bruff Church at 1.45 pm. ‘PUNK GUERRILLAS’ PERFORMING IN THE HONEY FITZ: ‘Punk Guerrillas’ (performance by County Limerick Youth Theatre) will perform in the Honeyfitz Theatre in Lough Gur for three nights only Friday - Sunday December 6-8. For further information see www.loughgur.com. All are welcome.
THANK YOU: The organisers of the recent fundraising dance in aid of Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital Crumlin would again like to thank all who helped in making it a great success. The net profit on the night came to €4,375 and a cheque will shortly be on its way to the hospital. This figure means that with your wonderful help we have donated in excess of € 40,000 towards the new cardiac unit which was very recently opened so once again from the bottom of hearts a huge thank you.

TURNING ON THE CHRISTMAS LIGHTS IN BRUFF: On December 7 after Mass we will light up our town for Christmas. Lights will be switched on by Sara Finn (Bruff Rose). Santa and his sleigh will be parading up and down through the town, with treats for all the children. Please come and join us and help us get the Christmas Holiday started.
