GAA News: The Intermediate Hurlers played Pallas in the Intermediate Relegation final on Saturday last in Caherconlish. Pallas started the stronger and were awarded a penalty early in the game which was excellently saved off the line by the Ballybricken defence. This lifted the team spirit but unfortunately was short lived as Pallas pressure continued and they did strike the net shortly afterwards and followed that with another point from play before Pat McElliott converted Ballybricken’s first free. Pallas then took control of the match and added another 10 points to Ballybricken’s 3 points from well converted frees from Pat McElliott. This left the half time scoreline 1-10 to 0-4 in favour of Pallas. Both sides exchanged points early in the second half before Palls struck the net for the second time. Despite the growing gap in the scoreline Ballybricken continued to battle hard and exchanged points with Pallas till the bitter end but it was not possible to close the gap and leaving the final score 2-17 to 0-10 in Pallas’s favour.

Our U16 footballers lost by a two point margin to Bruree in the shield semi-final on Tuesday September 19 in Caherelly.
