Obituaries: Pat Butler, Carrigbeg who was laid to rest on Tue. 23rd.  Nell Crowe nee Ryan Simon, Garryowen & formerly Toomaline who was laid to rest of Tue. 23rd.  Mary Hennessy nee O’Sullivan, Bristol & Cashel (sister of Tom O’Sullivan, Assumption Terrace) who was laid to rest in Bristol during the week.  May they rest in peace.  Sympathy to the bereaved. 

Recently Christened: we welcome into our Community Dermot Enda O’Loughlin who was christened recently. 

Doon Community Games: Congratulations to Michael Slattery who won bronze in the U14 County B Swimming Final & to Christopher Slattery who won gold in the U16 County B Swimming Final. 

Doon Tidy Towns 2013: we are presently preparing for this year’s tidy towns competition.  Adjudication will take place throughout the month of June – 5 weeks away.  As part of our preparation, householders and business proprietors are asked to have their properties presented in the best possible fashion. Clean up this Wed. evening, meet in Church car park at 7pm .

St. Fintan’s CBS: closing ceremony will take place on Sun. 12th May.  Concelebrated Mass on school grounds at 2pm followed by book launch and flag lowering.  All are welcome. 


St. Joseph’s Secondary School: the school is looking for memorabilia from past pupils.  We are particularly interested in finding past uniforms from before the current blue uniform.  Please contact school on (061) 380378 if you can offer any information. 

Year of Faith: in this year of faith the Church encourages us “to have a personal encounter with Christ”.  In order to help us do this a series of talks & testimonies on the wonder of our faith.  This will take place in Kilcommon starting with Mass on Mon. 29th & continuing for 7 consecutive Mon. nights at 8pm.  If you would like to experience the power of God in your life this is for you. 

Doon GAA: Lotto-22nd Apr. no’s drawn 2-16-25-27, no winner.  Next week’s draw will be held in Moore’s Bar, jackpot €9,000.  Fixtures: East Junior ‘A’ Leag Doon v Ahane on Thur. 2nd May @ 7pm in Ahane.  Results: Co. Senior Leag. Doon 5-13 South Liberties 0-9.  U14 Feile B Semi Final Doon 7-13 Granagh Ballingarry 1-2.  U16 Doon 5-14 Deel Rangers 0-3.  Cash 4 Clobber: As part of our feile fundraising campaign for both hurling & camogie, we are collecting any unwanted clothes, bags, shoes, etc. Items can be placed in ordinary bin liners.  Bags can be returned every Sat. morning between 11am–12 noon.  Cake Sale: Thanks to everyone who supported our fundraiser last weekend, total raised €1,235.  125 Mass: will be held in Doon GAA field on Fri. 3rd May at 7:30pm, all welcome.
