Obituaries: Gretta Cafferky nee Brennan, Gort, Co. Galway & formerly of Assumption Terrace who was laid to rest on Sun. 10th Feb. in Gort (formerly Primary teacher in Foilacleara N.S). Willie Deere, Northampton & formerly Convent View, Doon who died on Wed. 13th Feb. Willie was a member of Limerick Minor Team that won an All Ireland in 1940, he emigrated to London in 1946. Willie was a brother of the late Tommy Deere, Assumption Terrace. May they rest in peace. Sympathy to the bereaved.

Doon CBS Primary School: The parent’s council are holding a cake sale in the Pastoral Centre after all Masses on Sat. 23rd & Sun. 24th Feb. Your support would be appreciated.

St. Vincent’s, Lisnagry: will hold their annual collection on the 23rd & 24th Feb. Your support as always is much appreciated.

Friends of Limerick ’73: are launching & holding a table quiz in Moore’s Bar, Doon on Sat. 23rd Feb. @ 8:30pm. A cake sale will take place on 31st March. All proceeds from table quiz & cake sale will go to Milford Hospice, MS Limerick & Lisnagry.

Parents, do you think the teenagers in Doon should have a Youth Club: Parents evening on Thur. 21st Feb. @ 7pm in Doon Community Centre.

Doon GAA: Lotto-11th Feb. no’s drawn 7-12-21-24, no winner. Next week’s draw will be held in Moore’s Bar, jackpot €7,000. Limerick Development Draw: If you are interested in joining please contact Draw Co-Ordinator Adrian O’Donovan (087) 2207674 or any committee member, 1st draw will take place on Fri. 1st March, 10 months for €100. Membership: now been accepted. Fees are the same as last year - €20 for adults and €5 for under 18’s. Medal Presentation: Last Sat. night was a proud one for our 2012 County Minor Champions & U14 team when they were presented with their medals by Kilkenny’s Michael Fennelly. With a hugely successful club and county career to date, Fennelly is a great role model for our younger stars. There was a great turn-out of family, friends and supporters on the night. Our thanks to everyone, especially all the parents who provided the refreshments.
