Development Draw: Mountcollins GAA club are once again promoting the county clubs development draw for 2013. Income from the draw helps to promote football, hurling, camogie, handball and ladies football in the county, Clubs will benefit on a commission basis depending on membership.

The fee is €10 per month or a once off payment of €100. The prize fund will range from a top prize of €15,000 to a 28th prize of €250. In April, May and June there are special prizes of Munster and All Ireland hurling tickets.

The first draw will take place on Friday, March 8th and the first Friday of each month for the remaining of the year. The draw has always been well supported in the parish. Local promoters will be visiting each home in the parish and look forward to your support.

GAA Lotto: The numbers drawn in last week’s Mountcollins/Tournafulla GAA lotto were, 15, 19, 25 and 29. There was no winner of the jackpot prize. Lucky dip prizes went to Margaret McAuliffe, Barna, Newcastlewest, Sinead Leahy, Tournafulla, Sheera Collins, Killedy and Andrew Murphy, Mountcollins. The winner of the promoters prize was Eileen Wright. This weeks draw will be held in Tommy Micks Bar, Mountcollins where the jackpot will be €2,300 and your continued support is appreciated.

Card Game: The winners of first prize at last weeks card game was the team of Kathleen Lenihan, Terry Brosnan and Seamus Lenihan. In the runners up position was the team of John Lane, Jimmy O Connell and Tom Lenihan. The winners of the table prize were Nora Lyons, Anita Danaher and Ann Cahill. The door prize went to Marian Roche with raffle prizes going to Ann Cahill, Joan O Grady, Dan Reidy, Pat Fitzgerald and Paddy Sheehan. Cards as usual on this Thursday night at 9pm in the Community Centre and all are welcome.

Musical Treat: “The Witness “ is a musical by Carol and Jimmy Owens, This is a story of Jesus told by Peter and the other men and women who knew the Master best. Featuring a great cast and co-ordinated by Fr. Terry Loughran, “The Witness” the musical will be presented by the Diocese of Limerick in the Lime Tree Theatre, Mary Immaculate College, Limerick on Friday March 8th at 8am.

The production which is been staged just before Easter is an ideal opportunity for parishes, youth clubs as well as individuals to participate in a meaningful and relevant way in the Year OF Faith and to enter into the spirit of the season in preparation for the events of Holy Week. Soccer Lotto: The numbers drawn last weeks soccer lotto were, 7, 10, 26 and 27. There was no winner of the jackpot prize. The winners in the lucky dip draw were Josephine Brosnan, Brosna, Katie and Eva Sheehy, Tournafulla, Tony Collins, Rockchapel and Geraldine Lenihan, Mountcollins. The winner of the promoter’s prize was Julie Murphy. This week’s jackpot will be 12,700.

New Arrival: Congratulations to Sinead and John Morris, Riverside Drive, Mountcollins on the new addition to their family, a baby girl which arrived in the past week and will be the centre of attraction for her four brothers.

Halla Tadgh Gaelach: The next ceili in Tournafulla will be held on Friday, March 15th. The Johnny Reidy Band will get the St. Patrick’s weekend off to a lively start with dancing from 9.30pm. Refreshments will be served during the evening and all are welcome.

Set dancing classes continues: each Tuesday night in Tournafulla with tuition available in all the popular sets.
