FOOTBALLERS WIN: Mitchelstown Under 14 footballers had a very good win over Mallow in Co Premier Rebel Og Football championship semi final at Ballyhooly on Saturday

At half time Mallow led 0-5 to 0-2. Mitchelstown did very well in the second half and in the end they were winners by 1-9 to 1- 6. The Junior A footballers are due to meet either Glenbower Rovers or Belgooly in the Co JAFC semi final on Monday October 28th at 3.45pm in Pairc Ui Rinn

LIBRARY FUN DAY: There is an invitation to all young people to come to the Library in Mitchesltown on October 3lst for some fun. Carole Bradley will host – ‘Take a Halloween photo’ from 10am to 4pm. Marie Morris will be doing a Halloween face paint make over (Only with a parent’s permission) from 2pm to 4pm Liz will be making mini ghosties – all day. There will be a Witch House set up – so why not come along and have a sneak peek. Don’t forget to wear your costumes.

FUND RAISING COFFEE MORNING: There will be a Fund raising coffee morning in the Hunters Rest Mitchelstown this Thursday morning from 9.30am,b to 12.30pm It is a fund raiser for Fionn Doyle a two year old boy who suffers from Leukemia. PTAA: Mitchelstown Branch PTAA are major promoters of the Private Members National fundraising draw to help in the promotion of temperance, especially among young people in Ireland and pioneers in the developing world. The Private members monthly draw which anyone is free to join, has been held over the past number of years, has proved most successful as a national fundraising event. so once again the National fundraising committee and board of management have decided to run the national members draw beginning on November 20 2013 and continuing each month till April. THE LATE GERTRUDE WALSH:The death occurred on October 14 peacefully in her 89th year at the Bon Seccours Hospital Cork of Gertrude Walsh (Nee Crotty) Ballybeg Road, Mitchelstown. The late Gertrude was predeceased by her husband James. She was well kn own locally. Her popularity was borne out by the large number of people that attended the the family home on Wednesday and also at the Requiem Mass and burial on Thursday. Interment took place to the adjoining cemetery. To her daughters Helen (Fogarty) Veronica (Condon) sons Seamus, Sean, Pearse,

and the late Richard. sons in law Ned and Jim, daughters in law Rena, Rileen, Geraldine, and Natalie, sisters Peggy (Harding) Angela (Ballard) Cecelia (Lynch) Phyllis (Buckley) brothers in law Finbarr and Sean, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, relatives neighbours and friends we tender our sincere sympathy.
