CURRAGHCHASE 10K: Saturday August 17 at 12 o’clock sees the second Annual CurraghChase 10K run/walk. The date has been changed to the Saturday this year to accommodate patrons wanting to take part in the event and also attend the Limerick versus Clare hurling match. This 10K is unique in that it takes place in the beautiful woods lands of CurraghChase so there is a mix of road surface and good quality gravel paths and also a few hills thrown in to test the more competitive participants. Last year when this event was hosted it proved to be a very enjoyable day with the runners and walkers alike with some very positive feedback from the competitors. The first male and female past the post will receive €200 each and the second male and female receiving €100 each. Registration for this event can be done through www.Kilcornan.com or Eventmaster.ie. There will also be a registration night in Kilcornan Community centre Friday the 16th from 7pm to 9.30 and also on the morning of the event from 8.30am to 11.00 clock the first 600 participants to register receive a free Race shirt. This Year’s event is in aid of the Children’s Ark Unit in Limerick Hospital. CYCLE: Cliona’s Foundation Cycle, now in its sixth year will take place on Saturday August 31 leaving from the Honeyfitz Theatre, Lough Gur.With three routes this year including an 8km for family and funsters (fee €25.00), the organisers have appealed to experienced cyclists with a challenging 90km route (fee €30.00) and a less arduous 40km route (€30.00) for leisure cyclists.
