Parish outing: This year’s parish outing will be on Friday 21st June; anyone interested in a good day out can give their name & contact details to Mary or Martina at the post office. The cost is €25 per person; watch this space for further details nearer the time.
Coffee Evening: The coffee evening held on last Friday evening at Helen O Mahony’s, Ballyfaskin Ballylanders was a most outstanding success. Thanks to everyone for their support and donations. A most enjoyable evening was had by everyone and again a special thanks to those who sponsored the pri9zes for the raffle, to those who supplied various items of confectionery on the evening and to all helpers who gave of their time too numerous to mention.
A total of €1,700 has been raised for Milford Hospice and this figure shows the generosity and kindness of people for their local Hospice.
This event was organised in association with the Drive to Survive campaign which is set up in memory of the late John Gallahue to raise funds for the Hospice movement.
Kiddies Disco & Barbeque: In conjunction with Drive to Survive a kiddies disco & barbeque was held in Gallahues last Sunday evening with a most entertaining & enjoyable time was had by young and old. Lounge entertainment was provided by Little Susan and Later by Clann Eireann.
Weather: While the weather in recent days has been very good, a feature of the late spring is that only now the whitethorn trees are commencing to bloom. In former years the blossoms would be withered at this time. Again the ash trees are not fully covered with leaves.
