First Communion and Confirmation: Children from Meanus who received their First Holy Communion and Confirmation recently are invited to Meanus Mass on Saturday night, 22nd of June where they will partake in the Ceremony. Children from Meanus who received their First Holy Communion in Bruff Church recently were: Daniella Meade, Adam Murphy, Jake Farrell, Amelia Noonan and James O Connor.
Death: The death took place recently at the Regional Hospital, Dooradoyle, of Sean Hogan, Limerick Road, Meanus. Though ill for some time, Sean celebrated his 77th Birthday at the Hospital the day before he died surrounded by his wife and family. His remains were removed from Daffy’s Funeral Home, Croom to Meanus Church where Mass was celebrated next day by Canon Costello assisted by Canon Garry Bluett, Manister and Fr. Joe Foley, Bruff. Burial took place at Bruff cemetery. He is survived by his wife Biddy, Sons Dan and John, daughters Margaret, Bridget, Anne and Theresa, Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, Brothers Jimmy, Stephen, Tom, Mick and Ned, Sister Mary, nephews, nieces, relatives and his many friends.
Gala WeekEnd: Arrangements are being made by Meanus Social Club for the Gala Weekend which they are holding in conjunction with “The Gathering” on 28th, 29th and 30th June. More details will be given later. Anybody with old photos of Meanus are asked to hand them in in a sealed envelope with their name to Catherine Murnane or Ursula Lillis by Friday, 21st June, where they will be on display in the Community Centre during the Gathering Weekend.
Saggart Pilgrimage: The Annual Saggart Pilgrimage to Lourdes takes place this year from 22nd to 27th September. For booking forms or further information please contact Fr. Joe Foley at 087 2618412 or Eileen Irwin at 087 6628288.

Smoke Alarms: The Fire Brigade is installing free Smoke Alarms to the elderly or persons living alone. Anybody interested should contact Fr. Joe Foley at 087 2618412 or Hanora Horan (Parish Secretary) at 061 389033 between 9.30 a.m. and 2.30 p.m. Monday and Tuesday with your name, address and phone number and we will pass on your details to the Fire Brigade. They will then contact you and arrange a date and time as to when they will install your free Smoke Alarm.
