Trocaire Boxes: Please return your Trocaire Box to either of all the three churches as you leave mass or call into the the church to return one.

Stations of the Cross: There will be Stations of the cross every Friday evening at 7pm in Foynes Chruch for the duration of Lent.

Baptism: We wish to welcome Thomas Greaney into our Christian Community, Thomas received the Sacrament of Baptism recently.

Shanid Historical Society: The Shanid Historical Society are pleased to announce our newly elected committee members: Hon. Shanagolden & District Community Council: To help raise the parish contribution money needed to supplement the grant recently confirmed by West Limerick Resources for the development of sporting and leisure facilities at Captain Tim Madigan in Shanagolden, the following fund raising events will be held in Shanagolden Hall over the coming week: An Easter Card Game 2,000 euro in prize money will be held on Good Friday March 29th at 9.30pm. A Monster Bingo 4,000 euro in prize money on Tuesday April 2nd at 7.30pm. We ask you to support these fund raising events and to continue to support the weekly lottery so that the dream of having such wonderful factilities available to many parish groups and individuals can soon become a reality

West Limerick Resources: Old & old-fashioned furniture (excluding sofas & mattresses) & old/ broken tiles & plates are wanted for a new Newcastle West based furniture up-cycling & mosaic-making training course for people who are unemployed. This training course will train people to restyle old but solid furniture so that it can be re-used. Pick-up of the furniture can be arranged at a cost of €5 per trip – only usable furniture can be taken. Well done to Francis Riordan who was part of the Limerick U21 Footballers who played Cork in the Carbury Munster U21 Semi Final last night in the Gaelic Grounds.


We played our first competive game against Adare in the first round of the All County Senior Football league last Saturday in Foynes. Before throw-in we were minus about eight players due to other commitments and injuries. We trailled at half-time on a score line of St.Senans 0-02 to Adare 0-05, We started brightly in the second half but could not claw back the deficit and Adare finished up taking home the two points on a scoreline of St. Senans 0-07 to Adare 1-09. Scorers: James Naughton 0-03 (2frees), Conor Mullane (Captain) 0-02, Gerald Hanlon and Paul Ryan 0-01 each. County Development Draw:

The first draw of 2013 took place at Cu Chulainn’s Bar, Patrickswell recently and the club had one winner Alan Gallagher Foynes, Alan won 250 euro. The next draw will take on Friday 5th April at The Old Stand Bar, Shangolden.

Estuary RFC: Estuary Rugby Football Club will hold a dog night in the Greyhound Stadium on the Dock Road, Limerick on Saturday April 6th, Tickets are available from club members 10 euro per adult, under 16’s free. This entry fee will give you free entry into the draw on the night. A bus will leave from Patie Joes Bar, Shanagolden for those who wish to travel on it. Fr. Liam Lawton Concert- in Aid of Caherconlish/Caherline Parish Funds: On Sunday April 21st at, Caherconlish will have the honour of welcoming Fr. Liam Lawton as he performs in Concert in our Lady Mother of the Church, Caherconlish. Fr. Liam will be joined by local Adult and Youth Choirs under the direction of Valerie Walsh. This concert is being organised by the Parish Pastoral Council.For the past 20 years Fr. Liam he has been composing sacred and inspirational music Fr. Liam has performed in venues including the Vatican, Carnegie Hall, the White House and the Eucharist Congress held in Dublin.
