Coláiste Mhuire’s Got Talent: Congratulations to all involved in this year’s Coláiste Mhuire’s got Talent! After many weeks of rehearsals, mentoring and preparation, performers did themselves and the school proud in a spectacular show which took place in Coláiste Mhuire on Thursday 14th March. The Sports Hall was full to capacity with family, friends, and teachers of the performers. The spectacular show moved with style and ease thanks to the very capable presenting skills of Maria Prendeville and Cian O’Mahoney and the wonderful sound, light and staging ably undertaken by Mania Events.
Judges Aoife Kearney, Davina Noonan and Spin Southwest’s Eoghain Fitzgerald had a very tough decision to make on the night. Eoghain Fitz worked up the tension and excitement as he announced the winners. Sam Adams (2nd Yr) took the title of winner of ‘Coláiste Mhuire’s Got Talent 2013’, a very popular choice with the audience. 2nd place went to the traditional music group The Wingers consisting of John Shiels (6th Yr), Stephen Carrig (5th Yr) and Sean Finucane (3rd Yr), and 3rd place went to Aoife Meade in 5th Yr.
Many thanks to the many staff and parents who worked behind the scenes to prepare for the show and who helped on the night to ensure the smooth running of this major event. A well deserved special thank you to Ms Máirín McAuliffe who again produced a wonderful show.
Thank you also to the huge crowd who attended and supported each act. Once again, many congratulations to all students who took part, they were all winners!
