BRUFF RFC: Underage training re-commences on Sunday September 1 at 10:30am for Mini rugby (ages 6 – 12) and at 11:30 am for Youth rugby (ages 13 – 18). Looking forward to seeing you there.
COMMUNITY GAMES: Five athletes from our area represented Limerick at the National Finals of the Athletics last weekend in Athlone. Our U14 relay team (Eoghan O’Dea, Brian O’Grady, Tyrique McNamara Leamy, Sean McCarthy) had their first race on the Saturday morning and came in second place in the heat. Unfortunately they did not make it to the final, just losing out by coming fifth in the semi-final on the Saturday evening.
Sean McCarthy made it all the way through the heat, semi-final and to the final of the U14 100m sprint and was awarded the fourth place medal. This is a great achievement considering especially that nearly all counties were represented.Stephen O’Dea ran in the U16 7k marathon on the Sunday morning as member of a Limerick team of four. Even though he did not win a medal, he ran very well and is eligible for the same event again next year. Well done to our five boys for their great efforts at training since last April and for their excellent behaviour in Athlone. The athletics events are very competitive at National Level and our boys can be proud of their achievements.
LEADER NOTES: emailed notes must reach the KDC office by 9am Monday sending to or given directly to David O’Meara. Notes after this time will not be submitted.
