NATIONAL MUSIC DAY: Friday next, June 21st is National Music Day when various musical events take place all over the country. The local Comhaltas will celebrate Music Day with a session of music, song and dance at the Devon Inn and there will be a cÃ©ad mÃle fÃ¡ilte for everybody. Musicians, singers and dancers of all ages are welcome to come along and join in the session which gets underway at 9.00pm. This also provides the opportunity to celebrate the longest day of the year.

CARD GAME: The Parents Council of the local National School wishes to say mÃle buÃochas to all who supported their fund-raising 41 card game at the Devon Inn on Wednesday last.

COMHALTAS: The Teampall an GhleanntÃ¡in Comhaltas is holding a session of music, song and dance on Friday night, June 21 at the Devon Inn as part of National Music Day, starting at 9.00pm. The craobh would like to see as many of its members as possible being present as well as the general public. All are welcome to join in, fÃ¡ilte roimh gach Ã©inne. The weekly SeisiÃºn show featuring artistes from the local Comhaltas craobh will commence on Thursday, July 4th and will take place at the Devon Inn. The Comhaltas Campa Samhraidh will get underway at Halla Inse BhÃ¡n on Monday, July 1st. An appeal is being made to all branches for help with stewarding at Fleadh na Mumhan in UL on July 20 and 21. Anybody who would be willing to help out for a day or half day are asked to contact the local craobh rÃºnaÃ, Tadhg (069 84039), as soon as possible.
TRAIL WALK: The 22 mile (36Km) walk along the old railway from Abbeyfeale to Rathkeale takes place on Saturday next 22nd June (meet at Old Station, Railway Road, Abbeyfeale at 10:30 a.m.). Those intending to walk the entire route and receive a commemorative certificate should have registered with Liam Oâ€™Mahony by now [email: email@example.com]and . GRAVEYARD MAPPING: As part of the West Limerick Graveyard Mapping Project, trained volunteers will be conducting surveys in a number of graveyards across the West Limerick area for two weeks starting June 24th to July 6th with the support of Eachtra Archaeological Services. The results of all surveys will be uploaded to the website historicgraves.com where they can be accessed from anywhere in the world.
