CHURCH NEWS: Sacrament of Confirmation; this will be celebrated by the boys and girls in 5th & 6th classes from the three schools on Wednesday April 17th. The ceremony will begin at 11am and the chief celebrant will be Archbishop Dermot Clifford.

Church Renovation Draw: Now that Easter is over we need to begin to concentrate on the upcoming Church Renovation Draw which begins in May. Promoters are asked to check in this coming week with all households where they left in cards. Cards should be returned to Fr Burns from next Monday week on. We appeal to promoters and all who have taken cards to try and fill them please. Part of the profit from the draw this year will be used to carry out a full examination of Templebraden Church in order to see what renovations need to be carried out and get a cost on same.

PALLASGREEN TABLE QUIZ: The Pallasgreen Tidy Towns committee would like express their sincere thanks to all those who contributed and supported their Table Quiz last weekend. A special thanks to all who donated spot prizes which made the night a wonderful success. The committee are sincerely grateful to the Trustees of Pallasgreen Community Council who donated €250 and also to St Ailbe’s Credit Union who donated €150 towards the fund.

The Tidy Towns committee which comprises of Pallasgreen, Old Pallas and Nicker villages is engaging in enhancing the areas we all live and enjoy and appeal to everyone for their help. If anyone would like to get involved and would like to help out, please contact any member of the committee

SYMPATHY: The death took place in London, England of Tom Ryan (D) formerly of Corelish last week. The late Tom is a brother of Kitty Fella nee Ryan of Nicker and to Anthony and Paddy Ryan of Corelish. Sympathies are extended to his relatives and friends.

GOLF SOCIETY: O’Dwyer’s Bar Golf Society will hold their second outing this Saturday morning April 13th in Castletroy Golf Club. Time sheet is in Bar or you can contact Tom O’Dea at 087-9220906. Please note all players to be in the club house at 9.30am.

LOCAL ATHLETES: Results of the Analog 6K on Friday night last in which a total of 177 runners went to post, saw the winner from West Limerick A.C Niall O’ Callaghan come home in a time of 17.03. Declan O’ Connor was 13th in 18.50 with big brother Denis home in 20.16. Martin Franklin finished in 67th position in 22.58 and Richard Hayes followed up his great run last time out coming home in 139th in a time of 30.06. Next Friday night we are off to Moyross for a 6 mile run.

Saturday 27th will see the holding of the Friends of Limerick 5K Family Walk and Run. The venue is The Idler Bar, Knockane with a one circuit commencing at The Idler and heading down past Garrydoolis N.S., Templebraden Church and turning into Kilcornan finishing again at The Idler.

TEACH RAMBLING HOUSE: The Rambling House will take place at The Teach Cloverfield On Friday April 12th from 9 to 11pm. Rearcross musicians will be making a return visit. All are welcome.

GAA NEWS: Congratulations to the U21 Hurlers who captured the East B Divisional final after a comprehensive victory over Naomh Brid in Murroe last Saturday evening. Leading by 0-7 to 0-4 at half time they went on to win by 1-12 to 0-7.

The Intermediate hurlers will contest the East divisional final this Sunday following a walk over from Ballybricken-Bohermore last Sunday evening. Venue and time TBA.
