THANK YOU: Kerry Hospice Good Friday Sponsored Walk in Tarbert. We would like to thank the children and adults 74 in all who participated in the Sponsored Walk. The support

of walkers and all who sponsored them for this very deserving cause is much appreciated. The amount raised will be published when all sponsorship card are in.

GARDENING: Limerick West Grow It Yourself with the aim of inspiring people to grow their own food will hold its March meeting on Thursday April 18 at 7pm sharp in D and M Garden Centre, Croagh with new growers and old hands all welcome. This month’s talk will be given by Chris who will speak about companion planting and its benefits. We will also be on our second seed / plant swap of the season so please bring any unwanted seeds or excess plants and who knows you might just pick up that seed / plant you have been looking for. There is no need to bring anything if you don’t have spares and you can still take what you see during the swap.

From June / July we will be taking Limerick West Grow It Yourself on the road visiting some of the many interesting gardens of other members. If you would like to host a meeting at your garden let us know at the next meeting and a month that would suit.

GAA LOTTO: There was no winner of last week’s lotto draw. The numbers drawn were; 15, 21, 23, 28. Bar Prize winner Mark Buckley. The Lucky Dip winners were; Liam Walsh, Niall Stack, Tom Buckley and Michael Hennessy. Next week’s draw will take place in Carmody’s Bar with a jackpot of €1,800 on Saturday night. Thanks to all those who continue to support the Lotto. Yearly tickets are now available from all committee members.

CARBOOT SALE: The monthly car boot sale and indoor market takes place at the Community Centre, Newcastlewest on Sunday, April 14. On the same afternoon popular music presenter Mossie Richardson will be the star attraction with his Country Music Road show at an Afternoon Tea Dance in Fr. Casey’s Clubhouse from 3-6pm.

MATCH RESULTS: Tarbert Seniors travelled to Gallarus and recording an excellent victory over An Ghaeltacht on a scoreline of 3-9 to 0-16. Highlight of the game was the last minute cracker of a goal from the boot of Jason Wren. Team; D. Enright, J. Finucane, K. Enright, J.Wren, I Flavin, A. Lanigan, M. Normile, J.O’Connell, K. Wren, D. Langan, P.O’Connell, G.O’Sullivan, D. wren, K.Deenihan. N.Stack. Tarbert play away next weekend for our fixture in Kenmare. Game is fixed for Sunday at 2pm.

Tarbert Juniors commenced their North Kerry league with a convincing win over St. Senan’s. Played last Tuesday evening in Shannon Park, the teams were level at half time 1-5 each. A goal early in the second half by Shane Heffernan was quickly followed by some excellent points to put Tarbert 2-11 to 1-7 up in the final ten minutes. Senan’s rallied and missed two goal opportunities before Tarbert responded with two well taken goals by Evan Allen and Paddy Moriarty to win on a scoreline of 4-11 to 1-7. Team; A. Flavin, C. Minors Tarbert/Moyvane recorded an excellent victory over Spa last Friday evening in Tarbert on a scoreline of 2-15 to 1-9. Minors travel to Rathmore this Friday evening where the winners will qualify for the semi-final, best of luck to the team.

U-16 Moyvane/Tarbert team play Listowel in Moyvane next Monday evening at 7pm.

U-14 Tarbert/Moyvane are playing Ardfert away this Wednesday evening.

U-12 commenced their County League campaign with a great win over St. Pat’s Blennerville in a windy Shannon Park last Sunday evening. Trailing on a scoreline of 1-0 to 2-6 Tarbert played some excellent football in the second half and snatched victory right at the end with a goal to win by 4-6 to 3-7.Tarbert are at home next Sunday against Beale. Well Done!
