We also sympathise with the family and friends of Maura J. Ryan (nee Moroney) off Mill Road and formerly of Ascot Terrace, O’Connell Avenue. She was buried in Mt. St. Lawrence Cemetery on Thursday last.

CELEBRATION FOR ALL OUR YOUNG VOLUNTEERS: To show appreciation for the large amount of young people who are volunteers in our Parish, the Pastoral Council is planning a special celebration on Thursday Feb 7. Mass will be at 7pm.

All leaders / coordinators involved with the young people in liturgical events are asked to forward the names of members to Dympna on or before January 22. If a group has been omitted please let us know. Age: 5 to 17/ 18yrs. If any young person was not included in the Volunteer Celebration last year please let us know also. Baptisms: Baptisms take place on the 3rd Saturday of each month at 6pm. Please make all necessary arrangements with Fr. John or Fr. Paddy. A meeting to prepare for this special day will be on Thursday February 13 in our Parish Centre. Time: 7.30p.m.

Sisters to offer young people an opportunity to experience life in a Third World country. This Tuesday 5 February three young Volunteers from Mary Immaculate College – Katie, Aine and Rebecca - will be leaving our shores to work in a Salesian Mission in Mazabuka, Zambia. We wish them well.

LECTURES FOR THE YEAR OF FAITH: T he Department of Theology and Religious Studies, Mary Immaculate College, is proud to announce a Public Lecture Series to celebrate the Year of Faith. Every Tuesday at 17.00 hrs, (Room 202) an invited guest speaker will deliver a lecture on a topic that relates to Christian Spirituality. The Lecture series is free of charge and everyone is welcome. The first of these will be on Tuesday 5 February on New Evangelisation: opportunities and Challenges. The speaker will be: Professor Eamon Conway.
