Blessing Of The Throat: Saturday night after 6.30pm Mass in Foynes Chruch. Sunday morning in Robertstown Chruch after 10.30am Mass. Sunday noon in Shanagolden Chruch after 12noon.

Confirmation 2013: There will be a special enrolement mass for all 5th and 6th class pupils of both Shanagolden and Foynes Schools. Mass in Foynes Chruch on Saturday 2nd February at 6.30pm and in Shanagolden Church Sunday February 3 at 12noon. All pupiqqls and parents are requested to attend.

Confirmation for St.Senans parish takes place in Shanagolden on Friday March 8 at 11am at St.Senans Chruch Shanagolden.

Parish Clerk Collection: The parish clerk collection will be taken up at all masses on Saturday and Sunday February 2 and 3. Please support our sacristians as they do a tremendous job in keeping our three chruches clean and they are always available to help out in any chruch ceremonies.

First Friday: Friday February 1 is the first Friday and the Clergy will visit the sick and house bound.

First Holy Communion: First Holy Communion for Foynes National School takes place in Robertstown Chruch at 11am on Saturday 18th May. First Holy Communion for Shanagolden National School takes place in Shanagolden on Saturday 4th May at 11am

Choir Practice: Folk choir practise has resumed every Monday from 7.15pm to 8.15pm in Shanagolden Chruch. New members are welcome.

Enrolement: Parents who wish to enrol their children in Shanagolden National School in September 2013 may contact the school at 069-60215 for an enrolment form.

St.Senans Social Services: St. Senans Social Services have a book on sale entitled Memories 45 blian ag fas. It is on sale in all shops in Shanagolden and Foynes and the Foynes Boat Museum. It is dedicated to the senior citizens past present and future of Foynes, Robertstown, Barrigone and Shanagolden. It costs €5.

Pilgrimage To Taize: There will be a pilgrimage to Taize on Thursday July 4 to Tuesday July 9 Pilgrimage is for over 18 and will cost €595. It will include 4 days in Taize and two days in Paris including a trip to Euro disney. Contact Limerick Diocese for booking and details.

Chiropodust: The Chiropodust will attend the second Monday of each month in Foynes Community Centre at 1.30pm.

Day Centre and Exercise Night: Day Centre and Exercise Nights will resume again the end of February in Foynes Community Centre.

St.Senans Social Services: Our early spring break takes place on February 17 to 22. This year we are going to The Great Northern Hotel Bundoran. €335 for the 5 days. Bed, Breakfast, Evening meals plus entertainment nightly also tours daily.

St. Brigids Day: Customary celebrations (Rosary by candlelight and prayers) for the feast of St. Brigids will take place at St. Brigids Well, Shanagarry, Newcastle West on Friday 1st February at 8pm. Failte roimh gach duine.

The Witness:The witness is a powerful musical/drama which tells the story of the life, death and resurrection of Christ, through the eyes of St.Peter. Its being staged in the magnificent new Lime Tree Theatre, in Mary Immaculate College, Limerick on Friday 8th and Saturday 9th March. Coming as it does so close to the end of Lent, its an ideal way of taking some time out in preparation for the up-coming feast of Easter and doing so in a comfortable and enjoyable setting. Tickets are currently on sale from the Box Office in the Lime Tree Theatre. They can be reached on 061-774774. At €15 each, this show is a must for all the family. Your support would be greatly appreciated.

Charity Ceili: The 13th annual charity ceili in aid of Chernobyl Children International organised by Mike and Catherine Kiely, Templeglantine will take place at The Devon Inn Hotel, Templeglantine on Friday 8th at 9.30pm with music by Taylors Cross Ceili Band. Tickets cost €10 each. A great night guaranteed with spot prizes galore, all support appreciated.

Cards: The following are the results which were held in the parish hall Shanagolden: First prize on nine games to Marie Wrenn and John Wall. Second prize divided between five couples on eight games each: John Dolan and Nancy Danaher, Joan Fitzgibbon and Moss O Connor, Paddy Sheehy and James Bridgeman, Sean Moriarty and Mai Wall, Jim Lynch and Peg Mulvihill. Table Prizes: Moss O Connor and Joan Fitzgibbon, John Mulvihill and Vinnie Wrenn. Raffle winners: Nancy Danaher, Marie Wrenn, Jim Holland, Paula Ruane and Mick Neville. Lottery: The following are the results of the Shanagolden Community Council Lottery: The jackpot was not won. The numbers drawn were 2-6-15-19. Shanid Comhaltas Group: The Shanid Comhaltas Group will hold its music lessons in the hall, Shanagolden every Thursday night from 7pm to 9pm. This group caters for all age groups. All musicians are welcome. For further information contact Christy on 086-3106503 or Joan 086-1963847.

St.Senans GAA:The yearly AGM was held last Sunday evening in the parish hall, Shanagolden. The secretary and treasurer report was read out, the club is strong financaly. The following were elected: Life Presidents: Bernie Madigan and Donal Mullane. Presidents: Tom Madiagan and Pat Lane. Chairman: Vincent Kelly. Vice-Chairman: Bernard Enright. Secretary: Mike Mullane. Assistant Secretary: Niamh Finucane. Treasurer: Maurice O Mahony. Assistant Treasurer: Kenneth Mullane. PRO: Joe Ryan and Charles O Malley. Committee: Con Flynn, Paddy Ryan, Dave Naughton, Donie Sullivan, Jonathan Hayes, John Mc Mahon and Ger O Farrell. The next commitee meeting takes place this Friday night in Kerry Bar, Foynes at 8pm sharp.

Shannonside F.C. Lottery: There was no winner of the jackpot. The numbers drawn were 4-16-30-36. Lucky dip winners: Tony Dempsey, Sarah Jane and Alex Bardini, Shanagolden, John Mc Mahon, Foynes and Claire Mc Sweeney, Foynes.

Juniors: The A and B games against Rathkeale and Shountrade scheduled to be played last Sunday were cancelled due to the very bad weather.
