LITTLE did I think when I first became a huge Downton Abbey fan that I would ever get to make a contribution to the British costume drama! I am over the moon to be partaking in short advertisements (stings) that appear before each episode. I was absolutely overjoyed when Oxendales first approached me with this project last summer. All the stings were filmed in the majestic Adare Manor which lent itself beautifully to the whole Downton Abbey theme. Renowned Limerick actor Nigel Mercier did a fabulous job as he played the part of my butler. Far from the glitz and glamour of fashion shows, four of my models appear as chambermaids throughout the stings. It was an immensely enjoyable experience for everyone involved. The new series of Downton Abbey premiers on September 24 at 9pm on TV3.
SIXMILEBRIDGE National School Development Fund have announced a fabulous evening of fashion to take place at the Bunratty Castle Hotel on Thursday, September 18 at 8pm. With a pre-show punch reception from 7pm that evening, the Holman-Lee modelling agency will showcase fashions from the amazing shops and boutiques in the Limerick, Shannon and Ennis areas. Tickets are available locally and from Sixmilebridge National School.
Finally, I hope you will all join me on Saturday in Brown Thomas Limerick for a glass of bubbly while you can enjoy the fabulous autumn-winter fashion from one of the great labels, MaxMara!
