It was a winning time alright at the Curragh for the Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby when Limerick beauty Catriona Hanley from Raheen won the most stylish lady on the day. Catriona wore a beautiful jacket from Mary Katranzu and her dress was by Bastyan, all from Brown Thomas.
She picked up €20,000 in prizes including a trip to Dubai, a voucher from Brown Thomas and jewellery from Boodle. The competition was judged by a host of celebrities headed by Millie Mackintosh heiress to the Quality Street fortune and Made in Chelsea star, she looked divine in a Victoria Beckham dress. The style at the Curragh this year was the best I have seen in a long time. The sun shone throughout the day and the atmosphere was electric.
Ger and I were guests of Colm McLoughlin the executive vice chairman of Dubai Irish Duty Free and his beautiful wife Breda who looked stunning on the day in a sea-green coat and dress.
Another person that I met was Rory Cowan one of the stars from Mrs Brown D’Movie who spent many years living in Limerick and spoke very highly about his memories of the city and how happy he was here. Everywhere you looked in the Dubai marquee you saw familiar faces from our TV screens and radio including Gay Byrne, Ann Doyle, Brent Pope, Tom McGurk and two of his beautiful daughters Georgia and Jessica, Alan Hughes, Ashling McLoughlin, Triona McCarthy, Melanie Morris and I also spotted Rory McElroy in the Owners and Trainers area with a big smile on his face and no female companion.See also P3 main section for more
