GAA: Congratulations to the Tarbert juniors on reaching yet another final this year. They had a deserved victory over a gallant Ballylongford team in Moyvane last Sunday. Tarbert got off to a great start thanks to points from Mark Buckley, Niall Foley, Cormac Wall and Conor Flavin and led 4-1 after fifteen minutes. Slowly, Ballylongford got into the game, but only for some excellent defending and missed goal chances they could have been well up at half time. John Healy’s injury led to the introduction of veteran Cyril Flynn and this switch settled Tarbert, with the scores level at half time. Fitness told in the second half with a goal from Sean Carrig and further points from man of the match Mark Buckley, and Niall Foley left Tarbert in full control. A consolation goal from Bally at the end, left the final score Tarbert 1-10 Bally 1-5. Team: Noel Kennedy, Patrick Healy, Patrick O’Hanlon, Sean Holly, Cormac Wall (0-1), Jack Finucane, Evan Allen, Fionn Scannell, Mark Buckley (0-4), Niall Foley (0-4) , John Healy, Brian Healy, Sean Carrig (1-0), Connor Flavin (0-1), Kieran Lanigan, subs who played, Cyril Flynn and Eoin Diggins.
