Coláiste na Trócaire: Coláiste na Trócaire came together as a community last week to honour some of its students’ recent success stories. Presentations were made to Declan McCarthy, Jessica Lowry and Caoimhe Costello.
Jessica Lowry completed her Leaving Certificate this year and was the recipient of the Excel Student of the Year Bursary offered at Coláiste na Trócaire. Jessica has commenced her studies in Medicine at NUI Galway having achieved all ambitions in her exams.
Declan McCarthy was awarded for his outstanding achievement of 11 Higher Level A grades in the Junior Certificate. Declan is very ambitious and has taken part in many high achiever programmes. He has been acknowledged each year as a top performing student both in school and on a wider level.
Caoimhe Costello was commended for her valiant efforts throughout the year for the Limerick Camogie team. Caoimhe is an excellent ambassador for the school and embodies the mission of the school, achieving her potential academically, sportingly and personally.
Coláiste na Trcaire is hugely proud of the achievements of all its students and looks forward to any year of great success.
Death: Sincere sympathy is extended to the wife and family, grand-chrildren ,relatives and friends on the death of Jimeen Quilligan, Deel Court, Rathkeale. May he rest in peace.
Church choir: A big welcome to our two choirs who were on their summer break.
Happy Birthday: to Rebecca Roche, Cois Daoile who celebrated her birthdayon Sunday with family and friends.
Rathkeale Bridge Club: The Bridge in now back in action for the 2013-2014 season.
Radio Limerick 95FM: As part of a fundraising event for the Children’s Ark Unit at The Mid Western Regional Hospital a number of students took part in a Radio Programme on Limerick 95FM on Thursday morning last. A group of traditional musicians performed live on air from Rathkeale House Hotel, they were Eoin Burke on button accordion, Dylan O’Shea bodhrán and Dylan Murphy on Guitar. The event was organised by Ms Jean O’Brien in association with 95FM. In the run up to the event the school raised money for the Hospital project by selling tickets, the prize winners were Michelle Benson and Joanne Foley.
Sports: The First Year Hurling Team had a win against Copse Wood College on Friday. The final score was 5.13 to 1.2 The match was played in Pallaskenry.

Beginner and intermediate level Irish language classes for adults will begin in Colaiste na Trocaire on Tuesday, October 1 at 7.30pm-9.30pm.
