EUCHARISTIC ADORATION: takes place every Wednesday in Knockainey Church from 10.30 to 11.30am and from 6pm to 8pm. Evening Adoration form 6pm to 8pm returns to the altar in the Church, having been in the Sacristy for the Winter months. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to spend some time with Jesus exposed in the Blessed Sacrament. All doing Adoration are requested to remember in their prayers the children who received their First Holy Communion and those preparing for the Sacrament of Confirmation. A petition box has been placed on the table at the back of the Church, everyone is invited to place their petitions in the box which will be placed at the foot of the altar during weekly Adoration and the petitions therein will be included in prayers offered during Adoration.
KNOCKAINEY LADIES CLUB: has organised an evening in Bruree Garden Centre on Monday May 20th leaving Knockainey Community Centre at 6.30pm. If anyone needs transport contact Mary at 087 6257673. OLD PHOTOS WANTED:. Do you have old photos of Knockainey people, places or events? We are looking to gather as many of these as possible with a view to launching a book at our Village Festival in June. The Community Office is open from Tuesday to Thursday, 9.30am to 2.30pm. Please feel free to drop in with your photos. We will be able to scan them while you wait and so you can bring them home with you straight away. LOUGH GUR DEVELOPMENT: is planning to incorporate a playground at the Lake that will be in keeping with the natural environment. KNOCKAINEY AFC: In recent years we have started work on upgrading our playing pitches and creating a grass/sand training area. The future plan is to put up boundary fence, flood lighting and netting. We are also putting a walkway around the site for all to use. For this reason we have decided to celebrate our 20th year anniversary by holding a fun and jam-packed festival the June bank holiday weekend to celebrate youth, sport and community in our area. We have come together with Bruff Rugby Club who has offered us the use of their excellent facilities for the weekend.
