Student Exam Mass: The annual student exam mass will be celebrated on Saturday May 11th at 6.30pm in St. Senans Chruch Foynes. This is a very Special time in our student’s lives and we invite all students to partatke in this Mass. We also need volunteers from the parents to help with this special ceremony. St Senans Social Services: Have now opened their day centre in their new facilty in the Community Centre Foynes on Tuesdays at 2pm. You can come along and play Bingo, cards, DVD’s, have a chat, a bit of crack and a cupan tae. we also hope to start our aerobic classes soon. All senior Citizens are welcome.

Volunteers Needed: St.Senans’s as a parish has three churches and normally parking and crowd control is not a issue. However on special occasions where there are large crowds at any ceremony we would like volunteersto Steward the inside and outside of the church. Foynes Irish Coffee Festival: Foynes is hosting its first 5K run on the Sunday of the festival (2nd June).All proceeds will go to charity.Walkers can register on the day for a fee of €5. The closing date for the Powers Irish Coffee Championship which is held during the Irish Coffee Festival Weekend from May 31st -June 2nd is fast approaching so if you work in a Hotel/Pub or Restaurant and would like to compete for this very prestigious title dont delay in contact 069 65416 ASAP. Regional heats will be held in Dublin, Cork, Galway, Limerick and Tullamore with the winner from each heat going on to compete for the title in June.

Limerick West GIY: Limerick West GIY with the aim of inspiring people to grow their own food will hold its May meeting on Thursday 16th May @ 7.00pm sharp in D&M Garden Centre, Croagh with new growers and old hands all welcome. This months talk will be all about foods that may benefit your health (Let food be your Farmacy). We will also continue our seed / plant swaps so please bring any unwanted seeds or excess plants and who knows you might just pick up that seed / plant you have been looking for. There is no need to bring anything if you don’t have spares and you can still take what you see during the swap.
For June, July and August we will be on the road visiting gardens at our usual meeting time. More details at next meeting and in local press over the coming weeks.

Salesian College: The annual fashion show ‘Passion for Fashion’ took place on Wednesday last, 24th April in the Fitzgeralds Woodlands House Hotel. It was a great success and we would to thank all of our advertisers, parents and friends who supported the event.Our annual Golf Classic will take place Friday, 10th May in Charleville Golf Club. The cost is €200 per team of 4. This includes tea, coffee and scones on arrival, green fees and dinner on completion of the golf. Fabulous prizes to be won including Four Ball on Links Courses with accommodation in various venues around the country. Salesian Secondary College will hold a colours day on Friday, 10th May in aid of the Donal Walsh appeal to ‘Fix Crumlin’. Many secondary schools in Limerick are taking part and all the proceeds from the colours day event will go to the Cancer Unit at Our Ladys Childrens Hospital Crumlin. We organised a ‘Great Irish Bake’ cake sale in our school on Thursday, 25th April, it was a great success with €510 raised for Temple Street Childrens Hospital. Bag A Bargain – A number of teachers from our school are participating in a Camino in aid of Special Olympics Ireland. They are organising a fundraising event, please donate any unwanted handbags, scarves, hats, sunglasses and accessories to the school office for a Handbag and Accessory sale, date to be confirmed.
St.Senans GAA: St Senans are holding a Kelloggs GAA Cul Camp from the 1st to the 5th of July. This camp will cater for boys and girls ages 6 to 13yrs. It will commence on a Monday and run to Friday starting 10am and finishing at 2.30pm. All the different age groups will be accommodated and their will be tournaments and blitzes held in the GAA field in Foynes. Places can be booked on line at www.Kelloggsculcamp.ie or contact your team manager for further information. Each child will receive a Free Kelloggs Gaa Cul camp kit and kit bag. After the success of last years camp this is one not to be missed.
