Remembering our Dead: Purgatorial envelopes are available at the back of the Church. Please fill in the list of those relatives and friends whom you would like to remember. They will be prayed for, each Sunday during the month of November and on each First Friday throughout the year.
Cemetery Remembrance Service: There will be Mass in Kilmurry Cemetery on Sunday, November 17th at 3.00pm.
Shoeboxes: It’s that time of year once again - time to fill the Shoeboxes. Each box should contain a Facecloth, Soap, Toothpaste, Toothbrush, Hat, Gloves, and a Small Soft Toy. If desired, Pencil, Pencil Sharpener, and Small Bag of Sweets may also be included. Boxes for Boys aged 12 - 14 are mostly in short supply, we are asked to keep this age group in mind. Filled Shoeboxes can be delivered to Alison Godchild, Tel. 085/1203549 at Provincial Glass and Mirror Warehouse, Annacotty Business Park from 11th November for 12 days.
Bereavement Support Information Evening, Milford Care Centre: The next Information Evening is on Tuesday, Nov. 26th from 7.00pm to 8.30pm. These evenings are designed to give general information on grief and bereavement to bereaved people, their family and friends. Bereavement Counsellors are present in case you have specific questions. Alzheimer Society of Ireland: Waterman’s Lodge Ballina/Killaloe, Dementia specific Respite and Daycare Facility, is open 7 days a week and we currently have client vacancies in both Daycare and Respite. We provide 24hr care for our Clients in the North Tipperary, East Clare and East Limerick area. We provide various activities from cognitive stimulation, sonas, hand massage therapy. Safeguarding Children: The Safeguarding Children noticeboard at the back of the church has been updated to display the latest poster. This contains a summary of the policy in the Diocese of Limerick on safeguarding children and adults who work with them, as well as contact information for support. A leaflet with similar information is available in the sacristy, as well one with information for parents, and one for young people.
ICA Castletroy: The next ICA Castletroy meeting is on Tuesday, 19th November at 8.00pm in Monaleen GAA Club. All Ladies welcome.
Monaleen GAA Club: The Bord na nOg AGM will be held on Wednesday November 20th in the clubhouse and the Senior Club AGM will be held on Tuesday December 3rd at 8pm in the clubhouse.
DEVELOPMENT PLAN: The latest version of the development plan has been posted to the club website (www.monaleen.gaa.ie) in order for members to provide feedback to club officers. Latest version has the hurling wall positioned directly behind the clubhouse.
U-13 GEORGE FITZPATRICK TOURNAMENT: The George Fitzpatrick Tournament took place on last Sunday afternoon between Fermoy (Cork), Murroe, Boher, St Patricks/Ahane and Monaleen. Despite the constant rain the quality of the football was excellent and Monaleen won the tournament. Mary Fitzpatrick (George’s wife) presented the trophy to Fiona (George’s daughter). We would like to thank the Fitzpatrick family for attending on the day, providing the trophy and for all their support. We would also like thank the parents who provided the teas, coffees and food which made it a great occasion which all enjoyed. Thank you also to each of the teams who participated.
