STEPS SCHOOL COMPLETION PROGRAMME: Welcome back to the new school year to all pupils and students from STEPS School Completion Programme! And a special good luck wish to all new first years who are transferring to their new secondary schools! We are looking forward to working with you all for the year again.
We have sadly had to say fair well to our long standing Education Support Worker, Deirdre Whyte. We wish her all the best with her future!
We are planning on some new programmes and new ways of delivering them, so watch this space as we will let you know once details have been finalised and confirmed.
iScoil will be kicking back on the 3rd of September here at Garryglass house. Doodle Den Club will be starting mid September in Our Lady of Lourdes PS for all senior infants. After school clubs for primary and secondary school target group students will be announced once they are finalised.

FAIRTRADE: Congratulations to Caroline Keane who won the Fairtrade raffle. The proceeds from this raffle, organised by the OLOL Fairtrade Committee were donated to Trocaire.
DELL COMPUTER DROP IN CLINIC: Our Lady of Lourdes Action centre is hosting a monthly computer clinic on a walk in basis on the first Friday of every month. The Make a Difference volunteers from Dell have generously given their time to help members of the community with any computer issues they might have. The next clinic will be held on Friday the 6th September between 2 – 4 pm. For more information, call into reception at the Community Centre or call 061 – 228596.
ADULT EDUCATION OPEN DA:Y There will be a chance for members of the Our Lady of Lourdes community to sign up for one of the many courses on offer at the centre as part of its Adult Education programme. Courses range from computing / Guitar/ DIY to childcare, and those interested are invited to attend the enrolment day on September 11th between 10 am and 12 noon, and between 4 pm and 6.00 pm in Our Lady of Lourdes Action Centre. All Welcome!

Healthcare Support Fetac L4the overall aim of the programme is to provide the learner with the opportunity to acquire the knowledge, skill, and competence to work under supervision in providing support in a variety of Healthcare settings and/or to progress to further and or higher education and training.Catering Support QQI/Fetac L4The overall aim of the programme is to enable the learner to develop the relevant knowledge, skill and competence in a broad range of catering support skills which enable employment, under direct supervision, in a variety of hospitality and catering settings, or progression to further education or training.
Childcare QQI / Fetac Level 5The overall aim of the programme is to provide the learner with the opportunity to acquire the knowledge, skill and competence to work independently and under supervision in a range of Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) settings and or to progress to higher education and training.Hairdressing QQI/ Fetac L5The overall aim of the programme is to provide the learner with the opportunity to acquire the knowledge, skill and competence in hairdressing theory, practice and skills to work independently and under supervision in a hairdressing environment and/or to progress to further or higher education or training.
