BUSTER NIGHT: A great Night’s Entertainment was had by all who attended the Tralee Greyhound Track last Saturday Night.The Buster final was won by Millridge Leader owned and trained by Donal G. O’Mahony of Millstreet Co Cork with Ballinorig Gold owned by Geraldine, Noreen and Wayne Enright of Tralee and trained by Tom O’Connor, Saleen coming in a close second. CLOTHES COLLECTION: Shannonside Women’s Group is holding a Clothes Collection on Thursday, October 3 from 8 to 10am in Church Car Park.
BREATHING for SINGING: Classes will be held, in Tarbert Community Centre on Sunday, October 6 from 3-5 pm for adults and teens. Facilitator is Priscilla Donovan. Call her after September 15 at 087-760-5551 to register.
MEETINGS: Tarbert Bereavement Support Group monthly meeting takes place tonight Wednesday September 4 in the Presbytery at 8pm.
The Gathering Steering Group and all the people who worked so well alongside the group to make the festival such a success are invited to come along to the Presbytery to share a cup of tea and light refreshments at 8pm on Tuesday, September 10.
A meeting will be held in the Community Centre on Thursday September 12 at 9pm to begin preparations for a Parish Mission which will take place between October 19 and 25, 2013. If you would like to get involved you will be welcome.
St. Mary’s Church Tarbert, Eucharistic Adoration every Tuesday from 2pm, concluding with Mass at 7.30pm at St. All welcome.
Whist Drive resumes on Thursday, September 5, at 8.30pm in the Bridewell. New players welcome and lessons available for beginners.
SET DANCING: Set dancing classes for beginners will be held as follows: Marian Hall, Moyvane from Monday, September 2 onward. Clounmacon Community Centre from Tuesday, September 3 onward Classes from 8.30pm
YOUTH CLUB: The Tarbert Youth Club will hold their Annual General Meeting (AGM) in the Community Centre on Friday, September 6 at 8.30pm.
It is hoped that there will be a good turn out of parents at the meeting as parental involvement is vital if we are to keep the club going. It is also a good opportunity for parents of First Years to see how the club works, meet the present committee and have any questions answered. All are welcome and the Committee, look forward to seeing you on the night.
Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann: Enrolment for the new season of traditional music classes will take place on Thursday, September 12 from 7 to 8 pm in Ballylongford National School. It is important that all new pupils as well as those from the last year, who wish to continue, should enroll on that night. Classes will resume for beginners and beginners of new instruments only on September 27. All other classes will begin on October 4.
ANNUAL OUTING: Knockfierna Heritage Society will hold their annual outing to Cahir Castle, The Swiss Cottage, Rock of Cashel, Holy Cross Abbey on Sunday September 29. Previous outings have proved to be most enjoyable occasions. Mr. Philip Lynch of Kilkenny will be tour guide for the day. CHARITY EVENT: Adare to Survive is a 7.5km military style obstacle course taking place in Clonshire Equestrian Centre, Adare, Co Limerick on Sunday September 29. Cliona’s Foundation which provides financial assistance to the families of critically ill children is the charity partner and participants are invited to Endeavour, Endure and Enjoy a unique physical and mental challenge, individually or part of a 4 person team, to raise funds for a charity or club of their choice.
