DAFFODIL DAY: Sadly last month’s Daffodil Day in aid of The Irish Cancer Society was down 50% on the same day last year in terms of money collected. The atrocious weather was sure to have reduced the number of people being out and about but you can still donate to the society by texting the word DAFF to 50300. For each text, the society will receive 100 per cent of your €4 donation and every little helps.

VIGIL: The Limerick Diocesan Committee of St Joseph’s Young Priests Society will host the annual Vigil for Vocations at St Nessan’s Church Raheen, Limerick on this Saturday April 20th(the eve of Vocation Sunday) commencing with Mass at 6pm and concluding with Benediction at 9pm. You are invited to participate for all or any part of the three hour session. KANTOHER DEVELOPMENT GROUP: Kantoher Development Group is delighted to announce that it has been successful in its application to West Limerick Resources for funding to develop the ponds in Camas. The ponds are a major piece of the whole Kantoher Rejuvenation Programme with planning permission being awarded by Limerick County Council to develop a reed bed system on the 13 acre site. The funding from WLR will be used to develop a master plan for the site and the group have appointed Niochalas De Jong to oversee the development of what will be called the Kantoher Environmental Park. This will be an invaluable facility with the offering of outdoor education and recreational facilities for all our children and parishioners. Ideas on how best it should be developed will be invited from schoolchildren, adults and interested groups in the parish. There will be a public meeting in the Community Centre on Wednesday April 24th to further develop the ideas on this exciting new development. The facility will be opened for one day Sunday April 21st from 9am to 5pm to allow locals view the site and bring some ideas on how best it might be developed to the meeting the following Wednesday night. The meeting will be held under the stewardship of Mr. De Jong and his team and all are most welcome to attend. Watch out for upcoming news letter and posters later next week for further information.
