Cappamore Community Alert: There was a great response to the Church gate collection last weekend. €842 was collected. There are many people in parish who are a little isolated and in the case of an emergency, the Pendant can be used to alert someone to come their assistance immediately. Community Alert “Local Emergency Numbers stickers” will be available shortly to all households.

Recent Deaths: The deaths took place recently of Paddy Coleman, New Cottage , Towerhill. Paddy was a lifelong Biker and a good accordion player. Following requiem Mass in St. Michael’s Church, Cappamore the burial took place at Towerhill cemetery.
Mrs . Elizabeth Finucane, wife of the late John(eggler) died last week having reached the great age of 93. Her burial took place in Towerhill cemetery following requiem Mass in St. Michael’s Church, Cappamore.

Reducing Waste Bill: With the ever increasing cost of disposing of our waste, the CDA have invited a member of the Environment Section of Limerick Co. Council to give a talk on various methods of disposing of waste in an efficient manner and helping us to reduce the amount we have to leave out for the rubbish collection truck , thus reducing our costs. All groups and individuals in the parish are invited to this talk at Cappamore Community Centre on Monday 18th February 2013 at 8.00p.m.

Chernobyl Children International: Our Annual Church Gate collection will be held next weekend 9/10 February. All donations will be gratefully accepted for this worthy cause.
Our Oldest Resident : Sr. Teresa O Dwyer was born, the youngest of seven children in 1915. She was born in Drombane , Thurles, Co. Tipperary. She entered the Convent of Mercy, Doon and was professed in 1941. She trained as a Primary School teacher in Carysfort College, Blackrock , Dublin and came to Cappamore in 1944. She has spent her life in Cappamore teaching in the school, sacristan to the Church and a kind and loving sister in the Community. Up to her 96th year she was active and interested in all happenings and the people of the locality. Past pupils always speak of her with the highest appreciation and praise. As she lived her active life so she continues in her infirmity – patient, content and peayerful. She reached on the 1st February 2013.
Cappamore Daycare Centre: The Art sessions have resumed again thanks to the generous funding from Ballyhoura Development. For the moment the class will take place on Tuesdays but as the funding will last until December all groups will benefit this year.
A state of the art Mobility Scooter has been generously donated to the Daycare Centre but due to its size it is not suitable for the limited space they have in the Centre. An exchange for a contribution towards our funds would be appreciated. It can be viewed from Monday to Thursday between 8.30a.m. and 4.30p.m.
Scoil Chaitriona: Congratulations to our debating team who have reached the quarter final of the Co. Limerick Primary Schools Debating competition.
