LOURDES: The Lourdes Office is now open in the Social Service Centre, Henry St., Limerick Tel 061-314111. The fares for this year are as follows: pilgrims €699 and for an Invalid €599 this is inclusive of travel insurance. Invalid forms are available from the Lourdes Office. If anyone wishes to go on pilgrimage give your name in to the presbytery and you can avail of the weekly savings plan.

TAIZE:Taize is a small community on the east of France, not far from Cluny and Lyon. It’s a place of Pilgrimage all year round for thousands of young people from all over the world. People of all different faiths, cultures and levels of belief flock there. The Limerick Pastoral Centre is organising to bring a group of 40 young people to Taize in July of this year. The group will spend 4 days in Taize and 3 days in Paris and Euro-Disney. You must be over 18 to travel . Anyone interested in finding out more, please contact the Sacristy. FAMILY CARERS: Caring for carers, Limerick Branch in Association with the H.S.E. are holding a ‘Caring in the Home Course’ one evening per week for 12 consecutive Thursdays commencing 7 March 2013, 7.30pm – 9.30pm at St. Ita’s Hospital Newcastle West Co Limerick. SOCIAL CLUB: The Alzheimer Society of Ireland hold a Social Club for people with dementia and their carer, in a supported environment, which takes place each Tuesday morning in the Woodfield House Hotel, between 11am and 1pm. HISTORICAL SOCIETY: The next meeting of the Rathkeale & District Historical Society will take place at 8.30pm on Friday 8 March at the Community Arts Centre Rathkeale. The topic for discussion and the speaker is: “Localised place names (English & Irish) in West Limerick,” by Dr. Gerard Curtin.
