SIGNS OF SUMMER: Air and soil temperatures are finally beginning to rise, hopefully conditions will improve for everyone, and in some way help to alleviate all the problems of past months. On a lighter note, the cuckoo is heard calling from many of its usual haunts, swallow numbers have increased, house martins have taken up residence on the Church and Community Centre. Last Sunday was dawn chorus day, for those up early it was a great experience, weather was perfect, calm conditions and no rain, so bird song carried well in the morning air.
