Card Game: The first prize at last weeks card game was divided between the teams of Joan O Grady, Kathleen Lenihan and Connie Brouder and Dan Reidy, Connie Lenihan and Ned Murphy. The winners of the table prize were John O Connell, Paddy Sheehan and Florence O Connell. The door prize went to John O Connell with raffle prizes going to Rita Lenihan, John Murphy, Paddy Sheehan, Seamus Lenihan and Florence O Connell. Cards as usual on this Thursday night at 9pm in the Community Centre and all are welcome.
School Enrolment: Parents who wish to have their children receive their primary education at Mountcollins N.S. in the 2013/2014 school year should contact the school as soon as possible. (Tel. 068-44470) An open day will be held at the school on Thursday, April 18th from 1pm to 3pm and all parents are welcome.
Ceili: The March Ceili in Halla Tadgh Gaelach, Tournafulla will be held on this Friday night commencing at 9.30pm. The Johnny Reidy Ceili Band will provide the music. Refreshments will be served during the evening and all are welcome.
White Collar Boxing: Bragging Rights will be high on the agenda when Mountcollins and Fr. Caseys GAA players take to the ring for the White Collar Boxing Tournament on next Saturday night week, March 23rd. The event which is being staged in the Sports Complex in Abbeyfeale will feature both male and female boxers.
This is an important fundraiser for both clubs and all the competitors have spared no effort in their preparation over recent weeks. A great evening of entertainment will commence at 8pm and both clubs look forward to big support on the night. Tickets are now on sale from club members with ring side seats available at €20 with general admission on offer at €15.
GAA Lotto: The numbers drawn in last week’s Mountcollins/Tournafulla GAA lotto were, 4, 26, 28 and 30. There was no winner of the jackpot prize. Lucky dip prizes went to Kathleen and Dan Lenihan, Mountcollins, Peter McMahon, Tournafulla, Adrian Gleeny, Tralee and Joe Lane, Mountcollins. This weeks draw will be held in The Goalpost Bar, Tournafulla where the jackpot will be €2,600 and your continued support is appreciated.
Gaa Club: Mountcollins 1-15, Athea 1-12. The local team continued their preparations for the forthcoming competitions with a challenge game against Athea under lights in Mountcollins on Friday night last. Despite missing several players from the usual line up, Mountcollins played well and were full value for their three point victory. The team were drawn against Sean Finns (Rathkeale) in the West Senior Football Championship.
