MASS OF REMEMBRANCE: November is the month when we particularly remember our dead. We are aware that there are quite a number of people in our community who have lost a love one during the year. We also said goodbye to some of our parish members.

And many of us are grieving the loss of loved ones who died perhaps many years ago. Grieving takes a long time.

A special Mass of Remembrance is being prepared to remember all our loved ones. This will be on Thursday 28 November at 7.00pm. in St. Nicholas’ Church.

At this we will have a candle lighting ceremony, prayers and reflections, which we hope, will bring hope, comfort, and peace to man

BEYOND LIFE’S STRUGGLE: How the seasons change, How certain is it that summer gives way to autumn, and the falling of the leaves and the passing of so many things, and the tears of one who grieves. Yet, winter gives way to spring, new hope and life after suffering. And so it is, and certain too the promise of new life for our loved ones gone, no more strains or suffering now. Beyond life’s struggle there awaits only joy. Autumn is a prelude to winter. Some define it as fall, and that is duly noted because of what happens to the leaves, they fall. Autumn is a dignified season, it resonates dignity and grace. The kaleidoscope of colours keeps one looking up and beyond in profound amazement.
