New Limerick tourist attraction to open its doors for recruitment day

AN OPEN day for people interested in working at the International Rugby Experience in the city centre takes place this Thursday.
Between 8am and 8pm, the facility at 40 O’Connell Street will be opened for people to see what it would be like to work in the attraction which is nearing completion.
There are a variety of roles to be filled including receptionist, retail associates, tour guides, and cleaners.
Anyone interested in working there can drop in at any time of the day.
Chief executive of the International Rugby Experience Barry Hannon said: “We welcome anyone interested to stop by with their CV on Thursday and we are very excited to be expanding the International Rugby Experience team. Alongside a world class experience, we are looking for a world class team with a passion for customer service.”
International Rugby Experience staff are also inviting local creators, artists and producers who may be interested in supplying merchandise for their retail space to get in touch via its social media channels.
It’s planned to be a world-class audio, visual experience which celebrates the game of rugby and everything it stands for.
Visitors will be taken on a six part journey – following the game from grass roots level right up to legendary status – with each stage rooted in rugby's five key values of passion, discipline, integrity, solidarity and respect.
Media installations will bring all the energy of game day, while immersive theatre spaces will re-live some of the most famous moments in rugby history, and a series of huge, game-style interactive trials will put the visitor’s running, kicking, strength and handling skills to the test.
The Experience is set to open this spring and will feature past and present rugby union players from Ireland and beyond, including Tadgh Furlong, Jonny Wilkinson, Joy Neville, Thierry Dusautoir, Keith Earls, Nigel Owens and David Pocock.
And not to forget Munster, Ireland and Lions legend Paul O’Connell, who chairs the committee driving the project, first revealed in 2016.
Full details of the roles on offer can be found at www.internationalrugbyexperience.com/careers.
