Irish consumers warned not to use bath toy containing chemical unsafe for young children

A company is recalling a children's bath toy due to unacceptable levels of a chemical classified as unsafe for young children. 

According to the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC), Kandytoys (Europe) Ltd is carrying out a recall of Bathtime Buddies Rubber Ducks due to elevated levels of Bisphenol A (BPA). 

BPA can reportedly have effects on the reproductive system and has been identified as a substance that disrupts the hormonal systems of humans. 

The Type/model number of the product affected is TY6422, with batch number 8642 and bar code 5033849277888. 

Approximately 1,344 affected products have been sold to consumers in the Republic of Ireland. 

It is important that any consumers who have purchased this product discontinue its use immediately.

Kandytoys (Europe) Ltd are asking any consumers who purchased the product to return the product to their place of purchase for a full refund.
