Why is there no RTE Late Late Show tonight?

It was announced at the end of last Friday’s Late Late Show that there will be a switch up from the regular schedule this Friday, March 6.

The popular Friday night show host Patrick Kielty won't be on your screens tonight, with no explanation as to why exactly this is.

However RTÉ has confirmed that they expect regular viewers will be tuning into the rugby instead as Ireland takes on Wales in the Six Nations.

An RTÉ Spokesperson said: "The Late Late Show will not air this Friday night as Ireland take on Wales in the Six Nations. Coverage of the match begins on RTÉ2 and RTÉ Player from 7pm, where rugby fans can get behind the boys in green.
The Late Late Show will return on Friday, 13 March, with a St Patrick’s Day special featuring a fantastic line-up of guests ready to kick off the weekend’s festivities."
Regular scheduling will continue next week, on Friday, March 13, with a St Patrick’s Day special Late Late Show.
Replacing the show tonight at 9:35pm, is romantic comedy 'It’s Complicated', starring Meryl Streep and Alec Baldwin on RTÉ One.
