Rest in Peace Dylan Kelly

County Carlow is in mourning after a young teenage boy passed away unexpectedly in his home.

Dylan Kelly was from Graiguecullen in Carlow and formerly Graiguecullen in Laois and he passed away unexpectedly, on January 9th, 2026.

Dylan is the beloved son of Philip and Elizabeth, much loved brother of Kaitlin, Alex and Robyn and cherished boyfriend of Theresa.

Dylan will always be remembered and loved by his heartbroken parents, sisters, aunts, uncles, grandparents, cousins, relatives and all his friends.

Funeral arrangements will be published on Monday afternoon on RIP.ie.

Heartfelt messages have been left on RIP.ie from countless people devastated by the tragic loss, with one mourner writing,

"So sad to hear this. My deepest condolences to all his family, girlfriend and friends. He was the first student I taught in Carlow and I will always hold that privilege in my heart. He was the kindest young man and brightened my day when we encountered each other every day since. He will be sorely missed by me in our school community".

Another message said, "Absolutely heartbroken for you Liz, Philip, Kaitlin, Alex, Robyn and Theresa there are no words, Dylan we will miss you so much no more basketball thumping, no more boxing bag hitting the wall, no more hearing your lovely voice through the wall, you were such a polite, quiet kind child turning into a such a fine young gentleman, watch over your mam, dad and sisters and Theresa. Forever in our thoughts".

"There are no words at a time like this, Dylan was an extended part of our family as is Philip, Lizzy and the girls. Such a kind and gentle young man, loved by all who knew him, with his own wit and ways, we will all miss you son, please look after all of your family and keep them safe. Until we all meet you again some day," another mourner said.
