Woman in her 40s extradited from UK in connection with murder of Irish man in 2017

A woman in her 40s has been extradited from the UK and subsequently arrested in connection with the murder of Jamie Tighe Ennis in 2017.

24-year-old Jamie died from gunshot wounds as he was walking home from a pub near Moatview Avenue, Priorswood, Dublin, with friends on October 28, 2017.

He was shot twice in the head by a gunman at approximately 2.20am. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Several other people have been arrested in connection to his murder including three men, a female and a teenager in October 2018. They were all released without charge.

In a statement, Gardaí said,

"Gardaí investigating the fatal shooting of Jamie Tighe Ennis on the October 28, 2017, have arrested a female in connection with this investigation, following the completion and execution of a Trade and Cooperation Agreement Warrant by UK authorities in conjunction with the Garda Extradition Unit (Garda National Bureau of Criminal Investigation).

"The woman, aged in her 40s, is due to appear before Court No. 4 at the Criminal Courts of Justice this morning, Thursday 8th January 2026.

"Investigations are ongoing."
