A man’s body has been discovered in a reservoir after a woman was found seriously injured in a house in Co Kildare.
Gardai attended an incident at a house in Oaklawn West in Leixlip where a fire was extinguished.
A woman aged in her 50s was treated at the scene by emergency services before being taken to Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown for treatment of serious injuries, gardai said.
The scene was preserved pending a technical examination.
On Monday morning shortly after 6am, the Garda water unit recovered the body of a man aged in his 50s from the Leixlip reservoir.
Gardai have appealed for witnesses to either incident to contact them.
Any persons who were in the areas of Oaklawn West, Leixlip, the N4 and the Leixlip reservoir between 5.30am and 8am and who may have video footage (including dash-cam) are asked to share it with gardai.
