A still image from Conor McGregor's video which was recorded outside Government Buildings
Conor McGregor has taken to social media to post a video of himself outside "the office of the Taoiseach and the Tánaiste" outlining what, he claims, he would do differently should he be elected president, though he is not on the official ballot.
In the video, he declared: "We are over 200 days into the formation of the current Government. In these times, this government has cost us our piece of mind, our security, our hope for the future, and the general wellbeing of Irish citizens nationwide has decreased dramatically."
The former MMA fighter accused the Government of failing to battle homelessness in Ireland stating: "We have seen homelessness of Irish children risen to levels unprecedented, proving this government's refusal to abide by and respect our proclamation where all children of Ireland are to be cherished. Instead, our children abandoned."

He also spoke against immigration into the country and claimed there has a decline in tourism Ireland and an increase in danger across the country.
McGregor vowed that if he wins the presidential election, he would be "a president face-to-face with only one priority to ensure that the country our founding fathers gave their life for is strictly adhered to on behalf of its citizens."
He continued: "Ireland under my tenure, we will return important articles of our Constitution prior and thus again aligning with Padraig Pearse's proclamation that we declare the right of the people of Ireland to the ownership of Ireland and the unfettered control of Irish destinies to be sovereign and indefeasible Irish men and Irish women."

In the video's caption he urged his followers to take action to ensure he is on the ballot for next month's vote. "If you are a councillor who feels your voice is ignored, your hands tied, and your community overlooked, then I ask you to stand with me. Nominate me, and I will give you the platform and power to be truly heard. If you want to vote for McGregor, it starts now. Call your local councillor today and demand change."
In order to secure a nomination to contest the presidential election, candidates must secure nominations from 20 members of the Oireachtas or the support of four local authorities.
To date, no council has formally endorsed any candidate.
