RIP: 'Tragic' Cork couple both found dead at home paid tribute amid shock and heartbreak

Cork couple, 80s, who died together at home named locally amid shock and heartbreak

Tributes have poured in for elderly couple in Cork who were both found dead in their home in Cork recently.

Michael O' Sullivan and Ann O' Sullivan were both in their 80s and died together on 30th June 2025 together at their home in Glounthaune in Cork.

Gardai said that foul play is not suspected at this time and a post-mortem examination has been arranged and the results of which will determine the course of the investigation.

Ann was the loving sister of Gerry, Jim and the late Eolan and will be deeply missed by Julie, her nieces Aoife, Bríona, Órla and Fíona, her nephews Eolan and Diarmaid.

Michael was the loving brother of Mary and the late Bernie and will be deeply missed by Sylvia and his nieces Maureen and Yvonne.

They will both be very sadly missed by the Ryng and O'Sullivan families, their kind neighbours and friends.

Their funeral arrangements are as follows:

Reposing at Barry Bros. Funeral Home, Hazelwood, Glanmire on Thursday (July 3rd) from 5.00pm to 6.00pm.

Requiem mass will take place on Friday (July 4th) at 1.00pm in the Sacred Heart Church, Glounthaune which can be viewed

here.

Funeral afterwards to St. Joseph's Cemetery, Little Island where they will be laid to rest together.

Heartfelt messages have been left on RIP.ie, from those who knew and loved the elderly Cork couple, with one mourner writing,

"Sincere condolences to Jim & the wider Ryng & O'Sullivan families on the tragic loss of Ann & Michael".

Another message said, "Heart breaking. May they both rest in peace".

"So sad. May they both rest in peace," another person said.
