Hat-trick seizure as gardaí get more than they bargained for after stopping this jeep

Gardaí swoop to seize a jeep, campervan and trailer from an uninsured learner driver

Hat-trick seizure as gardaí get more than they bargained for after stopping this jeep

What started as a routine traffic stop turned into a triple seizure for gardaí in Waterford this week.

Gardaí from the Roads Policing Unit in Waterford patrolling the N25 when they pulled in a jeep for having no lights on its trailer.

A quick check revealed the driver was an unaccompanied learner driver, and uninsured.

As a result, gardaí seized not just the jeep, but the attached trailer with a campervan too.

Posting on Facebook, An Garda Síochána Waterford said: "Our Roads Policing Unit in Waterford were on patrol along the N25 when they prompted the driver of this jeep to pull in for having no lights on the trailer.

"Turned out that wasn't the only offence - he was also an uninsured, unaccompanied learner permit holder.

"The jeep, trailer and camper were all seized, and court proceedings will now get underway," the post read.
