Gardai are investigating a pipe bomb incident
A PIPE bomb was thrown at a house in the early hours of the morning in an ongoing feud-related incident.
It occurred at around 4am this Sunday at a property on the Hyde Road, Ballinacurra Weston, Limerick city.
Locals have reported a “massive bang” was heard in the area.
Gardai and Limerick Fire and Rescue Service immediately responded. It is not known the extent of the damage caused by the explosive device, if any, however, no injuries have been reported.
It is believed the pipe bomb landed in the back garden of the house. The scene has been cordoned off by gardai for technical examination.
It is the latest in a number of feud-related incidents on the southside of Limerick city.
In the last 10 days, a house was shot up on Friday, January 24 and last Thursday a teenager was arrested following a serious public order incident.
