A woman is due to appear before the court this morning in connection with a hit-and-run in Co Louth on Monday that left a cyclist hospitalised in a critical condition.
The incident occurred at around 6.25pm on Monday evening on the R132 in Dromiskin, Co. Louth.
Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of a collision involving a vehicle and a cyclist on the R132 near Whitehouse Cross, Dromiskin, after the alarm was raised.
The cyclist, a man aged in his 40s, was brought to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda to be treated for serious injuries. He remains in a critical condition.
The vehicle involved failed to remain at the scene.
On Thursday, gardaí arrested a woman in her 30s in connection with a hit-and-run collision.
The woman, who was detained at a Garda Station in the Lough-Cavan-Monaghan Division under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984, has since been charged and is expected to appear before Ardee District Court this morning, Friday at 10:30am.
