An investigation is underway following the death of a woman in County Wexford during the early hours of this Thursday morning.
Gardaí say the alarm was raised shortly after 3am and that emergency services quickly responded to the the incident which happened at a residence in Baile Eoghain, Gorey.
On arrival, they found a woman, aged in her 30s, who was unresponsive. She was pronounced deceased at the scene.
"A man in his 30s has been arrested in connection with the incident and is currently detained at a garda station in the Eastern Region under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984," confirmed a garda spokesperson.

The scene of the incident has been preserved for examination by members of the Garda Technical Bureau and both the Office of the State Pathologist and local Coroner have been notified.
A senior investigating officer has been appointed to lead the investigation and an incident room has been established at Gorey garda station in Wexford.
A family liaison officer (FLO) has also been assigned to support the family.
Gardaí are appealing to witnesses to come forward and they are also seeking dashcam footage from motorists who were in the vicinity of Baile Eoghain at the time of the incident.
