ALERT: Warning to Irish parents as popular buggy recalled due to parking brake hazard

An urgent recall has been issued for a popular buggy due to a hazardous issue with the parking brake.

The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) issued the alert on Monday that Stokke is carrying out a recall of certain Stokke® YOYO3™ strollers.

"The risk reported to the CCPC is that the parking brake on certain Stokke® YOYO³ strollers may unexpectedly release resulting in an injury hazard for the child," the statement from the CCPC reads.

"Only YOYO3 strollers with a serial number that begins with ‘142AA’, followed by numbers that fall below “0062239, are affected."

Consumers are advised to immediately stop using any Stokke® YOYO³ stroller included in this recall.

The CCPC advise that consumers should go to the dedicated Stokke portal to check whether their YOYO3 stroller is affected, and to register for remedy.
